The riverfront property is home to 24 tiny home spaces; 6 of the spaces are tiny home rentals and the 18 remaining are individually-owned tiny homes. Escalante Village offers a tranquil retreat for residents seeking simplicity.

Amenities: This innovative tiny home community features a range of homes maximizing comfort and functionality. Residents enjoy access to all the basic amenities like water, sewer, trash, self storage, electric and recycling. That’s not all though, residents also enjoy amenities like a community garden, bike paths, snow removal, fiber optic internet, gold medal fly fishing, trail system and easy access to downtown.

What Mades Escalante Special: In today’s world, desirable (and even undesirable) locales in Colorado are facing extreme shortages in affordable housing options. At Escalante Village, they welcome current tiny homeowners or future homeowners who are looking to begin an equity building pathway. There will be limited tiny home rental options available as well.

Hermosa Orchards

Location: Hermosa Orchards is located in Hermosa, CO, a beautiful locale just outside of Durango, Colorado surrounded by thousands of acres of National Forest.  Mountain views, a must for Colorado Tiny Home Communities, greet the eye in every direction.  Purgatory Ski Resort is 16 miles North and Durango Hot Springs Resort is 1.5 miles South.

Amenities: The park has eleven 36′ wide spaces and eleven 50′ wide spaces ranging from 95′ to 135′ in length.  Each space has room for yards, tree’s, landscaping, gardening, picnic tables, etc.  Utility hook ups are provided at at the rear of the lot on the driver side with 50 & 30 amp plug in RV pedestals, water, and sewer. Hardwired 100-200 amp is available for park models. Water, sewer, trash and recycling is included in the monthly rent. The street “Buena Onda Way” will be plowed as needed. Resident pays for Electric through La Plata Electric, cable/high speed internet if desired by Spectrum.

What Makes Hermosa Orchards Special: Residents have access to the orchard community space with mature trees producing apples, cherries, plumbs, apricots, and mulberries.

Island Cove

Location: Island Cove Park is a 15-acre, 69-space, mobile and tiny home community located on the river’s edge in the heart of downtown Durango, Colorado. There are 15 spaces in the park that are designated specifically for tiny homes. In addition, there are many smaller sites that lend themselves to alternative tiny home lifestyles. Living tiny can even include a yurt, teepee, converted box car or vintage travel trailer. Prices range from $550 an up.

Amenities: Island Cove Park has on site storage ($95/mo), laundry facilities, river trails, trash, recycling and snow removal, onsite park manager, lawn service (for an additional fee) and a trolly stop located at the entrance to the park.

What makes Island Cove Park Special: This tiny home park is unique in that it has 1000 feet of coveted Animas river frontage, a dedicated area for tiny home living, a community garden, and its own private island which is reserved exclusively for residents. 

Marlin Village

Location: MarLin Village, boasts an intimate 15 lot community that is located in the southwest Colorado town of Bayfield, near the banks of the Pine River. At an elevation of 6900’, Bayfield is a quiet agricultural community in the Pine River Valley. One of the magical parts of living on the edge of Bayfield is being able to stroll, bike, walk or take a short drive to nearly everything you need all within a block of your MarLin Village home

Amenities:. This Colorado tiny home community offers lot rents for $650 and with that comes water, sewer, trash and snow removal. You will also have access to a community garden and communal spaces, like a large pavilion with a grill that overlooks the wetlands. Be advised, there are plans in the works for a clubhouse, which sounds fun! There are additional storage units available for rent, the smaller of the two costing a mere, $28/mo! Wifi, electric and propane are available through outside providers.

What Makes Marlin Village Special: Marlin Village has a tiny home AirBnb lovingly named “Ruby Lantern”. The owners, a husband and wife team, offer this home for anyone who is curious about being & living in a Tiny Home, residents who have guests, or vacationers looking for a cozy retreat.
