Customization is the soul of tiny living; it’s the process of tailoring a compact space to fit the unique contours of your life.

Because tiny homes can sometimes feel like “boxes”, adding custom architectural details – like turning sharp corners into rounded, soft corners to soften the entire home – turns a structure into a personal sanctuary. In one of our recent builds, the clients proved that customization is all in the details.
“Standardization is for houses; customization is for homes.”
While a standard under-stair storage unit typically features sharp, utilitarian lines, these homeowners opted for something more sculptural. By trading rigid corners for elegant, hand-finished arches, they transformed a functional storage area into a stunning architectural focal point that perfectly mirrored their soft, modern aesthetic.

In another part of the recent home we delivered, they added an arched niche in their shower to add storage and also to their modernized homes. Small shifts like that can really elevate the home’s entire aesthetic.
Utilizing Dead Space
“Dead Space” refers to any area within a structure that cannot be used for a purpose. In an already condensed space, utilizing all dead space to the best of your ability will only benefit you and your home’s space!

One way that we have mastered dead space is by putting in a storage in the steps. It adds storage without taking away from the beauty of the home or adding bulky storage. There are a lot of ways to utilize dead space, just have to get creative!
Customization’s Can Go Further than Utilizing Dead Space
The kitchen serves as the soulful heart of this home, anchored by a stunning Cilantro Farmhouse sink in a rich Copper finish. To balance the warmth of the copper, the clients selected sleek quartz countertops paired with Corinto patterned tiles. These 6’’ x 13’’ accents bridge the floor and walls, creating a seamless palette that feels both intentional and vibrant. For the finishing touch, a double-door oven was integrated—a perfect marriage of professional-grade utility and the homeowners’ unique culinary lifestyle.

A standard stainless steel sink would save the same amount of space, but the copper sink changes the entire mood. It moves the home from “basic utility” to “custom luxury.” Customization here is about curating a vibe, not just fitting a puzzle piece.
